You were part of this journey. It is still alive.

If you walked with us, shared a meal, met a guide, or carried Palestine home with you, this page is for you. Founded in 2016. Rooted in Palestine. Still here because of the people and places that made Hantourism possible.

01. Origins

What began in Jericho became something shared.

Hantourism began with a simple belief: travel has value when it is locally owned, carefully hosted, and respectful of place.

One of the earliest ideas was to offer slower, low-impact ways to explore Jericho through local initiatives and farmer-owned experiences. Over time, that spirit grew into around 50 experiences with more than 30 local partners across Palestine.

02. The Network

A network, not just a value chain.

As it grew, Hantourism stayed close to collaboration: travelers, hosts, guides, families, artisans, and places carrying their own stories.

01

Community onboarding

Welcoming new hosts, routes, stories, and places into the community.

02

Independent hosts

Keeping value close to local guides, families, artisans, and community-led experiences.

03

Flexible structure

Keeping relationships alive through people who know and care for these places.

03. Resilience

Enduring through the quiet years.

These have been years of uncertainty, trauma, and interrupted livelihoods across the region. Some partners moved on. Some guides left the country. Some local projects and communities could not continue as they were.

Still, we keep looking forward. Hantourism remains proud of what this community represents: a locally rooted, independent, and careful way to share the best of our homeland, people, and culture with thoughtful visitors.

Music masterclass developed with local hosts

We kept developing

Cooking workshops, cycling tours, music masterclasses, sunrise hikes, and destination-led experiences were developed or refined.

Cycling route adaptation with local partners

We kept adapting

As travel logistics became uncertain, we worked with partners to rethink routes, safety, sensitivities, and practical support.

Hantourism network of people, friendships, and collaboration

We kept the project & network alive

The website, content, experiences, search presence, and booking tools still need work, but the project and the people, friendships, and collaboration behind it remain standing.

04. The Evolution

A new Hantourism platform for travelers who come closer.

We are building a new website that goes beyond booking tours, with curated Palestinian content about places, destinations, trails, routes, and practical travel support.

One important goal is to help independent budget travelers join together and share the minimum cost of experiences. This has been part of Hantourism from day one; now it is becoming part of the technology itself.

01

Curated travel layers

Points of interest, destinations, trails, routes, and context for responsible independent travel.

02

Shared-cost groups

A way for travelers to group together and make local experiences more affordable.

05. The Rebrand

From Hantourism to Hantour.

As part of the rebuild, we are simplifying the brand: from Hantourism to Hantour, the original name connected to the slow local carriage experience that sparked the project.

During the first year of the war, we worked with Gaza-based designer @Musab Mushtaha under extraordinarily difficult conditions to create the new logo and direction. The identity is still being refined; we want it to feel locally rooted, independent, open, careful, and proud.

06. Sustaining the vision

Ways to keep the journey alive.

If Palestine stayed with you, there are several ways to keep walking with us. Some are financial. Some are simply ways of keeping the story moving.
